It's been six years

People began showing up at the New York New York hotel/casino shortly after the attack on America and started a memorial. It grew so large that the hotel executives had to take down the majority of the items and build a permanent memorial. This is a photo I took on the curb.

This is a photo of one of the many magazines that came out regarding the events of September 11. I bought them all. I even made an entire scrapbook about 9/11. It took me almost two years to be able to actually sit down and do it...it was such an important project for me and I wanted to make sure I did it with honor and respect. Our world changed forever on that horrible day and the notion that my children were safe in our little part of the world was shattered.

Terrible, terrible day. I remember vividly watching it 'live' on SKY news when the second plane hit. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

It's still unbelievable.

I remember it well and it was a day that shook the WORLD not just America. We all grieved with you.

Very moving pictures Ruth. I remember it so clearly. I was off work threatening to miscarry again and sobbed as I watched the "live" TV reports.

Great take on today's prompt Ruth and a timely reminder of the world we're living in today! :(

I was taking a workshop at the time when one of the ladies got a call on her mobile phone. After ten minutes everyone agreed to go home to our loved ones.

As Diana said it shocked the world. We all sat glued to our t.v. here in the UK trying to take in what had happened in your country.

Very moving and a great take on the prompt.

Thanks for posting this. You can never remember that day too much. Thanks for the post on my blg about the dog. It is an amazing story and just makes me feel such a warmth and compassion for people and animals like that. I too love dogs, all animals.

BTW your cake pic from yesterday rocks.

I don't think there's many folk who can't remember exactly where they were as this unfolded - well posted Ruth.

Good idea to use this "print". Here, in the Netherlands, we also remembered the attack on the WTC. Yesterday I saw the movie from the Gaudet-brothers on the TV. It has such a great impact..........

I too can remember sitting watching the terrible events unfold... I was at work and all the kids just sat stunned into silence. Time doesn't make the events any less shocking.

Great take on the prompt for today's date:)
