The days are going by too quickly

Living in the desert, I look forward to the cooler months every year. I know that from October to around March it's going to be "nice" and after around February I start to dread the hot weather again. It's not even a 'love hate' relationship. I hate it here. There's no hiding that fact. I'd move from here in a heartbeat if I could but since that isn't going to happen anytime soon, I just do my little ritual every year and try to enjoy the less than 110 degree temperatures while I can. It seems like those hot, horrible months just drag by and then comes October and before I can even get excited about Halloween, it's here and gone and Christmas is practically here. I can't believe that Thanksgiving is only 2 days away. What happened to fall????? Ppphhtt...fall in southern Nevada. It was 80 degrees today...how fall like is that? No doubt we'll still have the air conditioning on while I make Thanksgiving dinner and there's just something so wrong about that...so wrong. And speaking of Thanksgiving, I'm looking forward to making pies, maybe a cake, the dinner, everything. I love it. I turn the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on, crank up the oven, and get busy. This year will be like the previous, just our immediate family and some friends. There are a few little old widows who live in the senior citizen apartment complex with my mother who have no family around. I can't let them spend Thanksgiving alone so they're coming over. Then I know my kids have a few friends who are without families for one reason or another so they'll be here too. It's going to be a casual, button popping kind of day. I can't wait for the turkey sandwiches!!! (my favorite part)

Lovely pic, great colours, cannot imagine that kind of heat for so many months....I am not good in the heat...my favourite months here in the UK are Spring and Autumn (Fall).

I love that shot, but I don't envy you the heat. Have a great Thanksgiving, though! x

Your thanksgiving sounds like great fun. Don't envy you the heat. Wouldn't mind a couple of days of nice weather a yeat though. My In Laws live in the desert in the Middle East and love it, they even complain to me on Sunday because it's about 80c so they are planning a holiday to somewhere hot!!! They must be mad.
