I fired up the oven (ewww hot) and I made this fabulous cake. Slightly lemon flavored with raspberry filling and a 'knock your mama down to get to the bowl' frosting with coconut. Good Lord....it was worth heating the entire house up for this little goodie.
You know....I really am serious when I say that I could get used to being home all the time. I have loved being able to sit down and read when I want...do some crafty things, and bake like a possessed woman whenever the urge strikes me. I can't say much for housekeeping at this point, I've been pacing myself as far as that goes. I usually try to put that off for as long as possible. I've more important things to do, like bake cakes from scratch, whip up frosting over a simmering pot of hot water and eat like a mad crazy person.

Hi Dear Ruth,
I looked at your post yesterday and could not believe how wonderful your cake looked...I also totally related to your feelings of wanting to stay home and cook, craft and even clean. My job gets all the good hours of my day. By the time I get home I'm drained. I miss you so much; let’s seriously plan something VERY soon. I would love to drive down to St George. I love that town. For a small town it has alot of fun stuff to do. I probably can't leave SLC until the end of Aug....look at your calendar and lets start planning.
You are an amazing person in so so many ways. I love your blog...you are one of the most "real" people I know, and I love that about you! xoxo/Judy
If that's how things roll in your house (cozy snuggly sleeping and eating yummy paistries) Then Can I move in with you???
